Austin Lippert is a dedicated mechanical engineering student entering his senior year at Gannon University. Over the past three years, he has balanced academics with hands-on experience in a significant campus initiative. Austin played a key role in developing a 13,000 sq ft Makerspace in the University’s IHACK building, contributing to various aspects ranging from grant writing to overseeing daily operations. His involvement spanned every facet of the project, including architectural planning, machine bidding, quoting, construction, operations, training, and the creation of comprehensive operations manuals.
Beginning his journey as a technician, Austin progressively transitioned into a project management role. In the final stages of his time at Gannon University, he led a team of 12 students from various engineering disciplines.
